What shall we pack?

Get thinking about the things you need to enjoy a day by the water.
What shall we pack?
  • 20 minutes
  • Optional: printer
  • Stay together
  • Stop and think

This activity encourages children to think about which objects are important to them, and how to prioritise the things they take out with them for a day by the water. It’s about understanding the basics of sun safety, to ensure children understand the importance of having suncream applied and wearing a sun hat.

Tell me more

Using picture cards of beach and inland water environments, you’ll split the class into pairs or groups and ask them two open questions:

  1. What would you take with you?
  2. What would an adult think is important to take?
