We are glad to report that there have been no major incidents as a result of Storm Ophelia and there have only been minor impacts on our volunteers, staff and assets.
Yellow wind warning from the BBC

BBC Weather

Thank you for your support in being aware of what was going on and listening to the warnings yesterday. By being proactive and taking extra precautions we believe this meant that there was only minimal weather-related damage to our assets.

If there have been any incidents at your regional base, lifeboat station, support centre or building, please make sure these are reported so that we can get support to the places that need it.

In Ireland we are aware that there is a power outage affecting the south which could take up to 10 days to fix and this could impact on our paging system. This situation is being monitored, but if you have any concerns or queries, please contact your Area Lifesaving Manager.

Please be aware that there is currently a yellow warning of wind for southeast Scotland and northeast England. You can keep an eye on BBC Weather for regular updates. The BBC also has a ‘Latest updates’ page here.
