Blackpool RNLI lifeboat station free family fun day Sunday 28th July 2019
Blackpool RNLI lifeboat station will open its doors to the public on Sunday 28th July 2019 for a free family fun day. The fun begins at 10am with lots of entertainment for the whole family throughout the day.
Members of the public will have the opportunity to meet volunteer crewmembers, try on kit, explore the boats and launch and recovery vehicles, win fantastic prizes in the raffle and take part in a whole host of other exciting games and competitions during the day. The lifeboat station will host a wide variety of live music and entertainers and younger visitors will also be able to enjoy a sandcastle building competition on the beach.
RNLI volunteer lifeboat crewmember Nick White said ‘We’re all really looking forward to welcoming everyone to our lifeboat station on Sunday. There will be lots of fun activities for the whole family and a rare opportunity for members of the public to explore the lifeboats, tractor and landrover.’
Blackpool RNLI Lifeboat Operations Manager, Keith Horrocks MBE added ‘All of the volunteers at the lifeboat station are thoroughly looking forward to opening the station’s doors to the public this Sunday. The family fun day is a wonderful opportunity for us to show people our fantastic boats and facilities and help them to learn a bit more about keeping safe in the water and on the beach.’
