Busy Sunday for Mumbles Lifeboat station
The Volunteer crew of the Mumbles RNLI lifeboat had a busy Sunday with 2 calls in 12 hours.
Both Inshore and All weather lifeboats were launched to join the search. Police and a Coastguard helicopter were also called in to assist the 2 Coastguard rescue teams searching for the woman.
Fortunately just after 2amthe lady concerned was located shore side and assistance was not required. Both boats were stood down and returned to station.
Then just after 11 am the inshore lifeboat Mark Lott launched for a second time today to a report of a swimmer in difficulties between Rotherslade and Langland, on arrival the swimmer had made it safely ashore. The lifeboat was stood down and returned to station.
Mumbles coastguard were also tasked.
Deputy second coxswain James Bolter said 'We're immensely grateful to all members of the public who reported these incidents. Thankfully all were safe on these occasions but it's better to be safe than sorry. We would urge anyone who suspects they feel someone is in trouble to contact the Coastguard by dialling 999 immediately'.
