How many people do I need to invite to a Fish Supper?
Whether you want to fill the house with new faces or just get the close family back round the table, choose as many guests as you can comfortably manage for a fun, stress-free evening. Last year, each Fish Supper raised a staggering £121 on average, often with just a handful of guests.
Where can I get help on hosting a Fish Supper?
Anyone signing up to host a fish supper will be able to download a free fundraising pack. This will tell you everything you need to know about Fish Supper. You’ll find a hosting checklist to inspire you and lots of ideas to help you plan your evening. You will be able to download and print more materials like name place, cards, invites and a fish themed quiz. Register to be the first to hear when the materials are ready for 2019.
I’m busy from 11-27 October. Can I still host a supper?
We’ll let you into a secret … you can host your Fish Supper on any date that suits your schedule. The only date that really does matter is 2 December 2018. That’s the deadline for sending in your donations to the RNLI.
How will every donation help?
Every penny you raise will help save lives at sea. The funds you collect go towards the cost of our lifesaving and prevention work, and help keep our crews ready for emergencies. You’ll also be helping:
- maintain our round-the-clock rescue service
- provide water safety advice and education programmes locally and nationally
- patrol 19,000 miles of coastline (that’s almost 3½ times longer than the Great Wall of China).
What do I do with my donations after the supper?
When your Fish Supper is over, there are three different ways to pay in your fundraising total. Please don’t send any cash through the post!
Online: Click Pay in and follow the step-by-step instructions. You will need a debit card or credit card.
By phone: Call 0300 300 9908 (UK) or 01 895 1800 (Republic of Ireland), and have your card handy. Our opening hours are 8am-6pm, Monday-Friday.
By post: Send a cheque for your total donation amount made payable to ‘The Royal National Lifeboat Institution’. If you are based in England, Wales and Scotland you can post cheques to FREEPOST RNLI. If you are based in the Republic of Ireland please send your cheque to RNLI FREEPOST, Airside Swords, Co Dublin
What’s the deadline to pay in my fundraising money?
We need to receive your fundraising total by 2 December 2018.
