Portishead RNLI volunteers attend two shouts in one launch
Portishead volunteers launched to a stricken vessel in the Bristol Channel on Saturday 15th Sept. On arrival on scene a Crew member was put on to the casualty vessel to set up the tow lines so they could be taken safely back to Portishead Marina. Whilst underway an urgent 999 call came from the Coastguards to say that a kayaker was in difficulty in Kilkenny Bay, Portishead. The Crew dropped the tow lines but left the Crew member on board to drop the anchor if required. The remaining Crew tasked to the kayaker in trouble. Once on scene there were 2 kayakers and both were safe and well, it was a call with good intent. On returning to the motor vessel they resumed their tow and took them with the 2 people on board back to Portishead Marina.
