Burry Port Lifeboat Station, located on the east side of Burry Port Marina, was established in 1973 and operates a B class Atlantic 75 and a D class lifeboat.

Both Burry Port Lifeboats were launched to search the vicinity of the Burry Estuary to locate a vessel that appeared to be in difficulty in darkness. The vessel was located with the casualty fast asleep on-board.

Burry Port RNLI rescue 2 persons cut off on Worms Head
It was deemed too rough for both Burry Port's lifeboats to launch therefore only the Atlantic 75 was tasked to 2 persons cut off on Worms Head. Due to the weather, Tenby's all weather lifeboat was launched to assist locate and retrieve both casualties. Burry Port lifeboat managed to retrieve both casualties and transferred over to Rhossili Coastguard Team.
