Alton Fundraising Branch
Alton Branch is an established group of fundraisers in the GU34 and GU35 postcode areas covering Alton and Bordon and the surrounding villages. We attend local fetes and sales to raise awareness of the RNLI and to sell souvenirs as well as undertaking street and in store collections.
We run an annual Quiz and Supper. In 2016 we put on a very successful concert featuring the Cardiff Arms Park Male Choir and a local folk group, The Kings Pond Shantymen, and we will be repeating the concert in 2017.
We are fortunate in having two RNLI presenters among our members who are able to raise awareness of the RNLI by giving talks locally and further afield.
We enjoy a great deal of support from local businesses including pubs, shops and hotels that hold RNLI collecting boxes and support us by holding their own fundraising events for us.
We owe everything to our volunteers who give us so much of their time and effort. We would like to hear from anyone who would like to join us, even if they had only a little time to spare, and contribute some new ideas to our work.
We are a small Committee which would welcome new members. We would also welcome anyone with an hour or two to spare occasionally to help us with street and store collections or to staff a stall at a fete or sale.
Please contact the secretary for opportunities at this branch or check our volunteering vacancies.
The RNLI Alton Branch Annual General Meeting is on Wednesday 12th April 2017 at Alton Maltings, Maltings Close, Alton, Hampshire GU34 1DT.
The Branch Committee meets about once a quarter to plan forthcoming events.
